The Waterfront Law Team Joined Elizabeth River Project for a Cleanup at the Ryan Resilience Lab

August 12, 2024 | In The Community

On Saturday, August 3, 2024, members from the Waterfront Law Team of Pender & Coward joined community volunteers to assist with the Elizabeth River Project cleanup at the Ryan Resilience Lab off Colley Avenue in Norfolk.  Due to the community volunteer efforts, 90 pounds of trash were collected!

"The Elizabeth River Project is always thankful to have the help of the Waterfront Law Team. They not only collected many pounds of trash but did so with a positive and cheerful attitude. This Saturday we collected 90 pounds of trash thanks to their added contribution. It was a very warm day, so it was nice to see that even in the heat of summer volunteers were still willing to come out and help the river. Our River thanks you," said Abagail Marquardt, Educator & Engagement Specialist, The Elizabeth River Project.

Thanks to the efforts of Jim Lang and Tom Berkley with the Waterfront Law Team as well as the Elizabeth River Project volunteers, the areas along Colley Avenue will remain trash and litter free for all to enjoy.

The Elizabeth River Project is a growing non-profit organization leading the effort to restore the health of the historic Elizabeth River, while affirming the river’s value to our region’s maritime economy.
